It is made for children 3 years and up. Younger players start by copying a simple picture card. Older children try to fill the whole board with no gaps, which takes real planning.

How do you play Block Drop?

Your child picks a picture card, then slides blocks down the slots from the top. Each block stops on the one below it. The goal is to copy the picture, or to fill every gap on the board. A block either fits or it does not, so children see their own mistakes and try a new way.

Why is Block Drop a good Montessori-style toy?

It is hands-on, made mostly of wood and self-correcting: the board shows right away when a piece does not fit, so the child solves it alone instead of being told. It also builds spatial thinking, which early math relies on.
